While some are considerably heavier, they are all putting on weight.
Now they're under the workbench and they can stay there until they have all their feathers. Some are really being quite aggressive. If start to show aggression toward me, they'll be first on the chopping block.
I can't have chickens that will peck humans. Not if I have small visitors coming. In the meantime, they're still cute. They can enjoy their youth.

Is such a temperament typical of that breed -- I don't recall our chicks, Rhode Island Reds, behaving as you're concerned these might.
Not a temperamental breed that I know of. I know that Leghorns can be jerks because of my personal experience. I'm just projecting my fears onto these chicks. :-)
They are just being chicks and pecking everything in sight in case it might turn out to be food. You're doing well with them. Proud momma!
