What Greeted Me This Morning!

We had high winds last night. We've had high winds before, but it must have been at just the right angle. This morning when I got up to get our resident teenager up for school, I thought there was quite a bit of fresh air in the new front room. The birdsong outside was louder too. This was due to the fact that one of the windows had fallen out!
The Man of the Place says that it is his fault. He didn't cause the wind, so perhaps it is a defect in the installation. (?)

I think I'll leave the dog here at home to guard all our possessions until a replacement glass can be installed. Let's hope that the replacement glass can be put in soon, before the next round of wind and rain hits!

Good Lord! Default of installation or not, that must have been some wind!!!

That's strange! Do you have a big piece of plywood covering that window now?

I've never seen a window just fall out.

Claude - It was a mighty wind!

Sally - H went over to the glass place in Lockerbie and THEY WERE OUT OF GLASS! Fortunately they still had a record our order from last time this particular window was broken. We'll have it on Monday.

Jay - We have plywood in its place now. I've never seen this happen before either.

It must have been a veritable tempest to suck the glass out of the hole! And you didn't hear a CRASH! in the night?

ex-shammickite - I didn't hear a thing!

Oh no! That's crazy. We have a window that seems to be falling out of the wall too. I thought I could put it off for awhile. But you're making me think I should get that fixed BEFORE it's absolutely necessary.

Have a great weekend. I'm praying it's a dry one. :)

you have some mighty powerful wind currents at your place--as i'm sure polly would remind you (if she could) after that night when she was outside while the greenhouse glass was flying around.

remember the big angus farm north of the tenant house in mt. vernon? that intersection used to be called st. mary's, iowa, but they couldn't keep a town there...the wind kept blowing the buildings down. a mile north it was fine, ditto a mile south.

I hope the weather is nice for you. I've had my windows open for two weeks now. The wisteria bloomed and the whole apartment smelled just lovely.
